Thoudam Netrajit Singh was born in 1975 at Lamdeng Makha Leikai, Imphal West, Manipur. He is the fifth son of (Late) Thoudam Kanhai Singh and (Late) Thoudam Ongbi Isheihanbi Devi. Netrajit Singh began writing at a young age and has since established himself as a prominent voice in contemporary Manipuri literature. His published works include Imphal Sahar (1995), Ei Khutlai Paide (1997), Kangsinkhraba Mit Ki Pi (2000), Lanphamsida (2006), Eigi Khungangda Laklabadi (1996), Sahara Gi Mikap (1996), and Chingnungi Sana Loktagi (2023). His poems have appeared in numerous literary journals and anthologies, including The New Voices (2000, N.R. Publications) and Tarang O Akash (2010, Aksar Publications, Agartala). Over the years, he has received several prestigious awards for his literary contributions, including the Thokchom Jogendro Ningsing Sana Medal (2001) from Naharol Sahitya Premi Samiti, the Yuva Puraskar (2006) from Bharatiya Bhasha Parishad, Kolkata, the Sanskriti Award (2010) from Sanskriti Pratishthan, New Delhi, the Progressive Writing Literary Award (2024) from the Progressive Writers Association, and the Dr. Ibohanbi Ningsing Mana (2024) from Writers Club, Nambol. He is actively associated with several literary and cultural organisations, including the Cultural Forum Manipur, Naharol Sahitya Samiti, Writers Forum, Imphal, Manipuri Literary Society, Patriotic Writers Forum, and the Fiction and Poetry Club, Manipur, where he currently serves as President.
This distinguished literary figure has made significant contributions to Poet in Manipuri literature, enriching the cultural and literary heritage of Manipur.
